BKT865-IP Cradle with BKT865-BAS-02 Waterproof Cable
Provides a single RS232 serial channel and stable vehicle power through an IP-rated waterproof connector. Suitable for permanent installations where the cable interface is exposed to water spray, rain, or routine washdown — mining equipment, agricultural machinery, outdoor signage, and wash-bay installations.

Where Waterproof Connections Matter
A standard connector relies on simple mating pressure to hold the cable in place. In washdown environments, water can enter the contact interface and corrode the pins over time — causing intermittent RS232 communication failures long before the dock itself shows physical wear. The BKT865-IP uses a sealed connector that maintains a watertight barrier around the contact pins, protecting the serial link through routine cleaning, rain, and chemical spray.

When to Choose BKT865-IP
Select BKT865-IP when your deployment requires a permanent metal mount with a sealed cable interface that survives moisture and washdown — mining equipment, agricultural machinery, outdoor signage, and any installation where the cable connection is exposed to the elements. It is the appropriate choice when the tablet is used primarily for one RS232 peripheral (diagnostics dongle, weighbridge display, or serial sensor) and vehicle power, and when the connector itself must not corrode over years of field operation. If your deployment operates in a controlled cab environment, the standard BKT865-BMW offers the same physical mount with a conventional connector at lower cost.

Compatible Tablet Platforms
This fixed metal dock supports two tablet models
The BKT865-IP mounts to the MDT880 mechanical interface and provides VCC/IGN DC12–32V input and one RS232 channel through the sealed BKT865-BAS-02 cable.
The BKT865-IP also supports the MDT865 with DC12–36V input tolerance. Same physical mount, same RS232 serial interface, same waterproof connector architecture.
