Removable vehicle docking station for the MDT865 rugged tablet, with a threaded M12 Ethernet connector. Why M12 Instead of RJ45
A standard RJ45 connector relies on a plastic retention clip that releases under sustained vibration, allowing the plug to work loose from the socket. In vehicles with high chassis vibration — mining haul trucks, agricultural machinery, construction equipment — an RJ45 Ethernet link can drop intermittently, interrupting vehicle network traffic. The M12 connector uses a threaded coupling that mechanically locks the plug to the socket, maintaining contact through vibration, moisture, and washdown conditions. The included M12-to-RJ45 adapter cable lets the installation connect to standard network switches without changing the M12 interface at the dock.

Adds CAN Bus capability to the CRD865-M12 dock through its USB-A OTG ports. One adapter cable supports up to 2 CAN Bus channels, enabling hardware-level vehicle network access on a removable cradle without a native CAN interface — ideal for deployments that require M12 Ethernet connectivity and CAN Bus data on the same tablet.

The CRD865-M12 is built specifically for the MDT865 mechanical and electrical interface, providing VCC/IGN DC12–36V input, one RS232, one M12 Ethernet, and dual USB-A OTG. It is not compatible with the MDT880 or MDT1065.
