CRD880-CAN Vehicle Docking Station for MDT880
Extended vehicle docking station for the MDT880 8-inch 5G rugged tablet with dual CAN Bus. Combines J1939-compatible vehicle telematics, GPIO control, dual serial channels, Gigabit Ethernet, and USB OTG expansion in a single cradle. Designed for fleets that require deep vehicle data integration — engine diagnostics, fuel monitoring, and predictive maintenance — alongside peripheral control from one mounted tablet.
The CRD880-CAN is the highest-integration cradle variant in the CRD880 family. It adds dual CAN Bus channels to the full-feature interface set, enabling hardware-level connection to vehicle networks without external adapters. The 5× GPIO, dual RS232/RS485, and 2× USB-A OTG remain available simultaneously — all sharing the same pogo-pin tablet interface and secure metal retention as the standard CRD880.
CRD880-CAN Cradle with Dual CAN Bus and Extended GPIO
Provides a dedicated RS232 channel connected to the tablet CPU, a second configurable RS232/RS485 channel over USB, five GPIO lines including ADC input, and dual CAN Bus channels for vehicle network integration. Suitable for deployments that require J1939 telematics, GPIO-based automation, serial peripherals, and wired Ethernet connectivity from a single docked platform.

Interface Summary
What Dual CAN Bus Enables in Fleet Deployment
Two independent CAN Bus channels allow the MDT880 to listen on separate vehicle networks simultaneously — for example, the J1939 powertrain bus and a proprietary body-control bus — without an external gateway. This enables hardware-level access to engine RPM, fuel consumption, fault codes, brake status, and auxiliary equipment telemetry directly from the docked tablet.
Typical Applications
Read J1939 fault codes and live engine parameters for predictive maintenance scheduling.
Track consumption, idle time, and refueling events through the vehicle's native fuel data.
Interface with door sensors, lift gates, PTO systems, and auxiliary equipment controllers.

When to Choose CRD880-CAN
Select CRD880-CAN when your deployment requires hardware-level access to vehicle CAN Bus networks — J1939 engine data, proprietary body control signals, or dual-network architectures that cannot be merged into a single channel. It is the appropriate choice for heavy-duty truck telematics, mining fleet diagnostics, and any integration where the tablet must read vehicle data directly rather than through an external CAN-to-USB adapter. If your deployment requires only serial peripherals and GPIO without CAN Bus, the CRD880 TYPE-A offers the same interface set minus CAN at lower cost.

Compatible Tablet Platform
This docking station is designed for one tablet model only
The CRD880-CAN cradle is built specifically for the MDT880 mechanical and electrical interface. It is not compatible with MDT865 or MDT1065 tablets.
